The machine behind every server
From Hermes to Ender, every plan runs on the same dedicated node in Beauharnois, Québec. Here's exactly what's inside it, and why each part matters for Minecraft.

Processor
AMD Ryzen 7 9700X
Minecraft runs each world on a single main thread, so how fast one core is matters far more than how many cores there are. The 9700X is a Zen 5 chip that boosts to 5.5 GHz, one of the fastest single cores you can get.
Plans get shared vCores on top of that. The main thread runs on one fast core, and extra vCores give the work that can run alongside it, like chunk generation, world saves and plugin tasks, room to breathe without slowing the tick.

Memory
DDR5 with ECC
ECC stands for error-correcting code. Every so often a bit in memory flips on its own, from electrical noise or even a cosmic ray. On ordinary RAM that can mean a corrupted chunk or a crash nobody can explain.
ECC memory notices the flipped bit and puts it back before anything reads it. It's what servers that aren't allowed to fall over use, and being DDR5, it's fast as well.
Illustration. The flipped bit is caught and fixed before Minecraft ever reads it.
Storage
Gen4 NVMe in RAID 1
NVMe drives talk to the processor directly over PCIe 4.0, so new chunks load fast when players explore and autosaves don't freeze the server.
There are two of them, mirrored: every write lands on both drives. If one fails, the other already holds your whole world and the server keeps running.
RAID 1 protects you from a drive failing, not from deleting a world by mistake. Keep your own backups too: how to make one.
If one drive dies, the other already has your whole world.
Network
1 Gbps, with DDoS protection
The node has a 1 Gbps port with unmetered traffic, so you never pay extra because your server got popular.
It's covered by enterprise-grade anti-DDoS protection around the clock, part of every plan at no extra cost.
- Attacks, stopped by the anti-DDoS protection
- What your server actually sees
Location
Beauharnois, Québec
The node lives in an OVHcloud datacenter in Beauharnois, near Montréal, on the east coast of North America, with good routes to the United States, Canada and Latin America.
Distance sets the lowest ping you can get, so the best way to know how it feels is to measure it from where you play.
