What Tin can run
A good starting point for
- A vanilla world for around 4–8 friends
- Small and medium worlds
- A playthrough with the same group from start to Moon Lord
- A test server next to your main one
Where it falls short
- tModLoader and content mods
- Large worlds with a full group online
- Public servers
Large world, or a few mods with tModLoader? Platinum doubles the memory for $1.50 more.

Vanilla Terraria is light. The server keeps the whole world in memory, and a small or medium world with a handful of friends fits comfortably in one gigabyte.
What it does need is a fast core: the world runs on one main thread, and that's where a Ryzen 7 9700X shows. If you're planning a large world or tModLoader, start one step higher.
