Is it the right size?
What Thorium can run
A good starting point for
- A community server for around 20–25 players
- Several mods running on the server
- Players spread across a large explored world
- Events or builds that bring everyone online at once
Where it falls short
- Public servers aiming for 40+ players
- Very large mod sets
- Several worlds running at full load
Expecting more players or heavier mods? Cobalt adds two gigabytes and half a vCore.
See CobaltIn detail
This is the size for a server you open to more than your friends. Two dozen players spread across the map, mods doing their part on the server and memory to spare when somebody runs off to the far edge of the world.
Hytale generates the world as players move through it, which is steady work for the processor and the disks. Here you have three vCores of a Ryzen 7 9700X and Gen4 NVMe in RAID 1 doing it.
