No. Hytale was designed so that mods run on the server: players join and get the server's content without installing any mods themselves.
What this means for you
- You manage mods in one place: the server's
mods/folder. - Players don't need a special launcher, profile or modpack to join.
- When you add or remove a mod, everyone gets the change the next time they connect.
The difference with Minecraft
On Minecraft, mod loaders such as Forge or Fabric usually need the same mods installed on every player's game, which is why modpacks exist. Hytale's model avoids that step entirely.
Worth knowing
Mods still use the server's memory and CPU. More mods, and heavier ones, mean you may need a bigger plan.
