ConfigurationThe Hytale server has an --allow-op startup argument that controls whether operators are allowed. On our servers it appears as «Allow operators» among the server's startup options.
Good habits with admin powers
- Give operator powers to as few people as possible. Most helpers only need a few specific permissions.
- Permissions are stored in
permissions.json. When they're assigned with commands in game, the server writes that file itself. - If you remove someone's role, check
permissions.jsonafterwards (with the server stopped) to confirm it's gone.
Don't hand out operator to strangers
An operator can change almost anything on the server. On a public server, that's how worlds get wrecked.
Worth knowing
If you need «Allow operators» changed and it isn't editable from your panel's Startup tab, open a ticket.
