Worlds & backupsHytale's built-in update system can back up the server before applying an update. Two settings in config.json, under Update, control it.
The two settings (official defaults)
RunBackupBeforeUpdate: trueRuns a full server backup before applying an update. It requires a backup directory to be configured.
BackupConfigBeforeUpdate: trueBacks up the config files (config.json, permissions.json, bans.json, whitelist.json) before applying.
Belt and braces
Even with these on, take a backup from the panel before a big update. A copy outside the server folder is the one that survives anything.
