Connection & updatesThe Hytale server has its own update system. The official manual describes it in four stages.
From check to new version
- Check
By default the server checks for updates every hour (
CheckIntervalSeconds: 3600) and can notify players when one is available. - Download
The new version is downloaded and staged in
updater/staging/, while the server keeps running. - Apply
When the update is applied, the server stops with exit code 8.
- Restart
The official start scripts see code 8, swap the files in and start the new version, keeping your config, saves and mods.
Being in Early Access, Hytale updates often. If an update doesn't seem to apply on your server, open a ticket and we'll look at it with you.
