On Minecraft, networks of servers usually need a proxy such as BungeeCord or Velocity. Hytale has native ways to move players between servers, described in the official manual.
The native tools
A plugin can send a connected player to another server with PlayerRef.referToServer(host, port, data). The optional payload can be up to 4 KB; the manual recommends signing it (for example with HMAC) because it passes through the player's client.
During the connection handshake, a server can redirect the player elsewhere, for example to balance players between servers.
Sending players to a fallback server when theirs goes down is announced as coming soon.
Custom proxies are possible too: the manual points to Netty QUIC and the packet definitions inside HytaleServer.jar. For most communities, referrals from a plugin are enough.
