The official manual explains that each world runs on its own main thread and offloads parallel work into a shared thread pool.
What that means
- A single world's main loop runs on one thread, so fast cores matter, which is why we run Hytale on a Ryzen 7 9700X.
- Parallel work, such as generating terrain as players explore, can spread across several cores.
- Several busy worlds can use several cores at the same time.
Worth knowing
Bigger plans include more vCores (from 2 on Copper up to 7 on Prisma). That's what gives a busy server room for parallel work.
