Errors & fixesIf the server worked before an update and crashes after it, a mod that hasn't been updated yet is the most likely cause.
Get back online
- Read the error
The console or the newest file in
logs/usually names the mod involved. - Move mods out
Move the named mod, or all mods if nothing is named, out of
mods/, then start. - Add them back one by one
Restart after each one until the crash returns; that's the culprit.
- Wait for its update
Leave the broken mod out until its author releases a version for the new game version.
Worth knowing
Restoring the pre-update backup also works, but players on the new game version won't be able to join an older server.
