Besides PvP, each world's config.json has switches for fall damage, the day–night cycle and NPCs. They're useful for building worlds, events and hubs.
The switches
| Setting | What true does | Typical use of the opposite |
|---|---|---|
IsFallDamageEnabled | Falling hurts | false for a building or lobby world |
IsGameTimePaused | Freezes the time of day | true keeps a hub always in daylight |
IsSpawningNPC | NPCs spawn | false for a peaceful build world |
IsAllNPCFrozen | Every NPC is frozen | true while setting up a scene |
Same rule as always
Stop the server before editing and keep the JSON valid. Changes are read at startup.
Fewer NPCs, less CPU
The official manual names NPCs and mobs as a CPU driver. A world where NPC spawning is off costs less to run.
