Hytale's own manual names the two things that drive resources: RAM grows with the area of the world that is loaded, CPU grows with players and entities. Pick a plan from those, not from a single player number.
What uses what
| Resource | What drives it (official manual) |
|---|---|
| RAM | A large loaded world area: high view distance, players exploring independently |
| CPU | High player or entity counts (NPCs, mobs) |
A rough starting point
- Copper (4 GB): a few friends who mostly play together. 4 GB is the official minimum.
- Iron or Thorium (6–8 GB): a group that explores on its own, or a small community with mods.
- Adamantite and up (12 GB+): public servers and worlds explored in every direction.
Not sure? Use the calculator
Our plan calculator has a Hytale mode that estimates memory from players, mods and view distance, and recommends a plan.
Worth knowing
These are starting points. The manual itself recommends watching RAM and CPU while people play, because usage depends heavily on how they play. You can move to a bigger plan later and keep your files.
