Six gigabytes and the first two splitter slots. Atenea is less about raw headroom than about what you can do with it: run a real modpack, or split the plan into more than one server.
As a single world it is a genuine modded server. A Fabric base leaves you around 3.5 GB of working memory — room for a pack of sixty to eighty mods with ten or fifteen players, or a heavily plugged Paper server that never has to think about garbage collection.
The splitter slots are the real reason to be here. Two of them mean a lobby and a survival server, or a survival server and a creative build world, sharing this allocation and connected through a proxy. That is the structure most growing communities want long before they need more memory.
It is still short of the kitchen-sink packs. ATM-scale builds want twelve gigabytes and up, and pretending otherwise just moves the problem to your players.
What actually runs on it
- A 60–80 mod Fabric or Forge pack for 10–15 players
- A lobby plus a survival server through a proxy
- Paper with a heavy plugin stack and 30+ players
- A modded server that also pregenerates in the background
What it will not run
- All The Mods, ATM-scale packs or Create: Above and Beyond
- More than three server instances at once
- Large modded worlds past roughly twenty players
Hades is the plan most growing networks settle on: 8 GB, three splitter slots and the room to run a mid-size pack properly.
