Hermes is the entry point to the pantheon: one gigabyte of DDR5 on the same Ryzen 7 9700X that runs every other plan. Nothing about the hardware is downgraded — only the slice of it you rent.

This is the plan for a world you and a handful of friends actually play in. Vanilla or a light Paper server, a couple of quality-of-life plugins, render distance kept sensible. Within those limits it is quick, quiet and cheap enough to forget you are paying for it.

It is also the honest floor. One gigabyte does not run a modpack, and we would rather tell you that here than let you find out after checkout. Once the JVM takes its overhead you are working with a little over half a gigabyte of real headroom — enough for a small world and a small group, not for Create or All The Mods.

If your world outgrows it, moving up the pantheon takes minutes and your files come with you. Nothing you build on Hermes is stranded there.

What actually runs on it

  • Vanilla survival for 4–6 friends at normal render distance
  • Paper or Purpur with a handful of light plugins
  • A private SMP that runs a few hours a night
  • A test or staging server next to your main one

What it will not run

  • Modpacks — Forge and Fabric packs need 4 GB and up
  • Servers past roughly eight concurrent players
  • Heavy world generation like Terralith or BetterEnd

Planning on mods, or more than a handful of players? Apolo doubles the memory for $1.50 more, and Ares is the smallest plan we would put a modpack on.
