Eight gigabytes, three splitter slots and enough room that you stop tuning and start playing. If you are not sure which plan you need, this is usually the answer.
A mid-size modpack runs properly here. After the JVM you have close to 6.8 GB of working memory — a hundred-mod Fabric pack with twenty players, or a Forge pack of similar weight with a smaller group and generous render distance.
Three splitter slots is where a network stops being an experiment: a proxy, a survival server and a minigames or creative server, all from one allocation. Five databases and three backup slots keep that structure manageable rather than fragile.
It still is not an ATM10 plan. The biggest kitchen-sink packs want twelve to sixteen gigabytes, and the difference between running and running well is exactly that gap.
What actually runs on it
- A 100-mod pack with around 20 players
- A three-server network: proxy, survival, minigames
- Paper with 50+ plugins and a busy public playerbase
- Modded survival with generous render distance
What it will not run
- All The Mods 9 or 10 with a real group online
- More than four server instances at once
- Very large modded worlds past roughly thirty players
If the pack is the point rather than the network, Thor and Odín are the plans built for kitchen-sink packs.
